TwoCan App

The TwoCan App must be installed on your mobile device and, once configured, it is used for:

  • Synchronizing: Getting the movement data from your bands.

  • Dashboard: An overview of the device synchronization.

  • Progress: Seeing how you've done over time.

  • Game: Playing the "Toucan Play" game.

App Menu

The app has a '⋮' menu in the top-right corner, with the following commands:

  • Reload: If you have spotty or no internet connection and only a partial page loads -- this will allow you to reload the page properly when you have better signal.

  • Synchronize: The devices should automatically synchronize when you open the app. If you need to troubleshoot connection problems, this option manually forces synchronization.

  • Deactivate: You should not need to use this option as it is used to delete the device syncing information and log out of your study account. You could lose data that is not yet synchronized and any future data. You would need to know your login details to be able to sign in again.

You should have your app already installed and configured at the start of the study. You can skip to: Using the App.

When first using the app, you will be given a username and a passkey which should be entered on the "Account Details" page, then press "Sign In".

Pairing the bands

To ensure a reliable Bluetooth connection with your bands, you should "pair" them to your mobile device.

  1. Open the Bluetooth Settings, either:

    • Swipe down from the top of the screen and long-press on the "Bluetooth", stylized 'ᛒ', icon; or

    • Go through the "Settings" app and "Network & connection" (or "Connected devices") and locate the "Bluetooth" settings.

  2. Select "Pair new device" (or similar)

  3. (select one of the two bands) "I5-Om-######" (###### = the last 6 letters of the device address)

  4. Select "Pair new device" again

  5. (select the remaining band) "I5-Om-######" (###### = the last 6 characters of the device address)

The device address is the one seen while the device is connected to power.
